Local conditions
Homes and conditions in Kensington
The ABS counts Kensington within its Kensington (NSW) locality. There, 21% of occupied private dwellings are separate houses, 7% are semis, terraces or townhouses, and 71% are flats or apartments.
Most of that work is a wall-mounted or ducted split sized for a single apartment. Where the outdoor unit is allowed to go — a balcony, a wall bracket, or a shared plant deck — is set by the building's by-laws, so that is worth checking before anything is chosen. Older blocks also tend to have limited spare electrical capacity, which can decide the size of the unit for you.

What kind of air conditioning suits homes in Kensington?
ABS Census 2021 counted 21% of occupied dwellings in Kensington (NSW) as separate houses, 7% as semis, terraces or townhouses, and 71% as flats or apartments. Check the strata by-laws first: where the outdoor unit may be fixed — balcony, wall bracket or shared plant deck — usually settles the design before the equipment is chosen.

Does BES Air Conditioning & Refrigeration install ducted air conditioning in Kensington?
Yes. We install, replace, relocate, service and repair ducted air conditioning in Kensington 2033. 71% of Kensington homes are flats, so a full ducted system is less common here than a slimline ducted unit hidden in a bulkhead. BES Air Conditioning & Refrigeration installs split system air conditioning in Kensington — wall mounted, floor console, bulkhead, ceiling cassette and under ceiling units, plus multi splits where several rooms run from one outdoor unit. In an apartment suburb like Kensington the strata by-laws usually decide where the outdoor unit is allowed to sit, so that is the first thing to check.
